1. The recognition of one’s own self and understanding its worth and value is the greatest wisdom for a person.
2. Being acquainted with one’s own self is the greatest wisdom for a person.
3. He who knows his own self is wise, but he who remains ignorant of himself is misguided.
4. Recognizing oneself is greater than all forms of knowledge.
5. The one who fears Allah the most is the person who values their knowledge of Him more than the opinions of others.
6. The enlightened person is the one who, by recognizing oneself, liberates oneself and purifies their soul from all things that distance them from their true self.
7. The person who attains self-awareness and sincerity in their actions is the most wise and intelligent.
8. I am amazed by the person who searches for their lost belongings when they themselves are lost and do not search for themselves.
9. I am amazed by the one who, in the state of ignorance about oneself, desires to recognize their Creator.
10. How can one who is ignorant of themselves recognize others.
11. The one who does not recognize oneself always remains distant from the path of salvation and becomes lost and entangled in the darkness of ignorance.
12. He achieved great success who succeeded in self-realization.
13. Have you considered yourself to be a small creature, when within you lies the vast universe.
14. O men of valor! There is no real man among you.
15. Someone asked Imam Ali (peace be upon him) for the definition of manliness. Imam Ali replied: Manliness is to never do such an act that, if it ever becomes known, one would feel ashamed, to consider oneself in the presence of God at all times, and to never be heedless of God.
16. The one who chooses asceticism in this world, refrains from seeking its approval, and does not fall for the allure of its adornments; Allah guides such a person without relying on anyone else’s intervention. He grants them the light of knowledge without bowing to anyone. He awakens wisdom and understanding in their hearts and manifests it through their speech.
